My Boss's Boss

Posted by soreal

Yesterday morning we met with the country Training Site Director. For someone known as a visionary, strategic thinker and intelligent, she sure seemed a little too tiny. I don’t mean that in a negative way because I find her really pretty. She’s a petite woman with delicate features. Her brilliant eyes shine with depth and wisdom only a woman of her experience can effectuate. She’s 36 but she looks younger, so much younger actually and when she speaks it is with calculated clarity and sense. Even her jokes make sense.

I don’t know why sometimes I get stumped in the presence of powerful women. Maybe it’s because I can’t help but admire, respect and fear them. Deep down, I believe everyone wants to be like them minus the unsuccessful love life of course.

Rich said it was like a “meeting Miranda” moment..you know Miranda Priestly (Devil Wears Prada) but I didn’t think so even for one moment. Our director lacks that unwelcoming and steel-like element. I’m glad to have a boss like her!

A Bit of Paradise In A Place Called Alegre

Posted by soreal

Hi everyone! I have a really good excuse for not being able to write sooner. Management had a training/outing last Saturday and Sunday at Alegre Beach Resort. The training was interesting yet very tiring because we went straight to the resort right after work so everyone was awake for 24 hours grrr. The Resort however is a totally wonderful place and I had the best bubble bath experience in my entire life..so far.

Alegre is a tranquil resort in the North pat of Cebu. It’s EXPENSIVE but worth every Php. They have the most accommodating and hospitable staff. When we got there we were greeted with friendly smiles and a table of freshly made juice awaited us; just the thing we needed after a 2 hour travel. We wanted to go check out our rooms right away but Momi Lai wanted to get the training started so we can have all the free time in the world after.

So where do I start bragging? Well let’s start off with lunch then. The buffet lunch was super amazing! As a matter of fact, every meal is amazing in Alegre. Everything’s fresh, cooked and served at its best (sigh). All my other buffet eat-till-u-drop experiences are a far cry from what they offer. Their cook in their can seriously do some major damage to anyone’s diet.

Now let’s move on to another brag-worthy morsel…the rooms. The moment we opened the door, we gawked in awe at 2 huge beds, large sofa, big tv, DVD player, mini ref and a heavenly bathroom. I’ve never been in such a really big bathroom before. It’s like stepping into your very own getaway to a place where you can get lost in relaxation. They have cute customized bottles labeled with whatever is inside it like shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, lotion, etc. Oh boy, I really took advantage of the bobble bath hihi The pillows are as soft as clouds, not that I’ve hugged clouds before though. The room is like a beautiful dream in its self and I wanted to keep it so much, everyone felt the same way.

Wait, I’m not done bragging. Just a few stairs down is The Cliff, Alegre’s tiny bar at the beach. To say it’s beautiful is an understatement. They have a spa hut, hammocks, a cabana, beach beds and some smoked colored tables and chairs. The beach when we got there was so inviting, it was calling us but I ignored it coz I was too busy noticing every other wonderful detail. The only down side is that the sand although it’s white is not really all that refined and powdery so I don’t recommend playing beach volley.

Alegre sure knows how to tickle anyone’s fancy. It is one of the favorite places of our site director and now its one of my favorites too.

Tired! Tired! Tired!

With everything happening in my life right now, you can say I’m one SuperGal. I don’t have any special powers or anything but hey, if you don’t think extreme multi-tasking, joggling a career and still have the time to cuddle with your sweetie aren’t super powers then you must have unresolved issues. Oopps, still have a few reports to file..Blessed be guys!

Remembering

Posted by soreal

I learned a few interesting stuff with the new trainees. In one of our activities, the trainees were asked to draw their vision and write their mission in attaining it. I know I shouldn’t be surprised at all when some of them wanted to be trainers, TL’s, System Analyst and even OM but part of me was. Maybe it’s because I was really fascinated by them. Somehow they reminded me of the time when I was only starting out. The time when like them, I wasn’t sure of many things in my life but I knew I wanted to be part of training. I was armed with hope and nothing could faze me. I still have the drawing I made during my CCT (its hideous argh!) but it always brings back warm memories.

Learning as much

Posted by soreal

I'm young, but I don't make it as an excuse to just slack off or waste my hard-earned money off to some temporary respite that I may never get to fully use in my lifetime. I'm still in the process of discovery when it comes to money matters and decision-making.
Having been able to read Mr. Kiyosaki's book Rich Dad Poor Dad sometime last year, I resulted to finding out more in finding a way to understand more about the real estate business. Nouveau Riche has a way of learning to realize the concepts of earning much and getting more than what you've invested.
Nouveau Riche has an extensive way of opportunities to go beyond your norms so that you can maximize your time living life while staying young. That's why the goal of Nouveau Riche is to make sure you get value for your money as they don't want you to be compromised as well.
I plan to do everything I can so that I won't get burned out when the time comes that I no longer want to work for the same job. At least in the future, I'm more or less insured due to the number of savings and investments that I've come up. So for now, I still like to be in a rat race cause I want to experience to learn.

New Nail Polish Color

Posted by soreal

I always look forward to the daily coaching I have with out Training Delivery Manager. I see her as a woman of substance and someone to look up to especially because the rest of the NACS trainers are all guys leaving me with nobody to identify with. On the other hand, I really don’t mind being the only woman, makes me feel like a Queen nyahaha (wait till any of the boys read this). So last Friday’s coaching was about presentation and how a trainer should be packaged. I need to buy a new set of wardrobe, something that doesn’t show any cleavage at all. There is a very strict NO CLEAVAGE policy for trainers both men and woman (winks) and I happen to enjoy showing a bit of mine as an agent so it has to stop now.
When I got home I felt the utter need to change my nail polish and I changed it red hihih although my boss said that we should never use any shocking color. Well if my memory serves me right, her definition of shocking was yellow, blue and green and anything that is not a match to what you’re wearing. I have several red outfits to match my red mail polish and besides, it’s my off today so no big deal.

New Pair of Shoes

Posted by soreal

So I got myself a new pair of shoes and a matching bag to match. They’re just the cutest and loveliest shoes that my peepers have ever seen. Yellow has been my favorite color for the longest time and these shoes are so totally Sex and the City.

Be The Next Self-Made Billionaire

Posted by soreal

Isn’t it inspiring when someone you know as part of a lower socioeconomic class crosses over to the world of wealth and class all of a sudden with the little stroke of luck and hard work? It is something that I ultimately want to be a part of. Successful stories like this happen more commonly than we realize it. Nouveau Riche, as these people are called exist everywhere and as a matter of fact I personally know some individuals who make good examples. It’s not always easy to tell who will make it or not in this society but self-made individuals certainly make everything look possible.

Looking back in history and the abundant list of Nouveau Riche community, we can see a common denominator in all of them. They are all hard-working, ambitious and calculating. They usually reached their status in venturing to the business world and their risks have most definitely paid off big time.

Nouveau Riche University where participants will be provided with comprehensive training to pave the way for the self-made billionaires. Now is a good time as any to be successful.

These Shoes Are For Me

Posted by soreal

This is my last shift taking calls because next week I will start my In-Team Training. It’s a Saturday so as expected, call volume is low. Moments like these make me want to browse ebay and so I did. My eyes almost fell out of their sockets when I saw these adorable shoes! I wish there’s a purple or pink pair but there is isn’t. At least the seller has it in the basic colors black, white and grey (if you consider grey basic). Grrr! I must convince dada that these shoes are part of my necessities especially when I start with my own class. Every trainer must have fab shoes!

They Call It Football

Posted by soreal

Every sports fan has his very own way to stay posted on his favorite sports. One sport that has been around for awhile and has a growing number of followers is football. Staying informed with the latest football picks is as easy as going online and clicking on some buttons. Now isn’t that great news for the fanatics?

Kimono Loco

Posted by soreal

I told dada I’ll keep my online shopping in check these days so I no longer bid for anything in ebay without consulting him first. He knows I only bid for clothes anyway and he loves my choices so he lets me bid almost all the time. I got one kimono dress that arrived yesterday plus 2 kimono tops that arrived this morning. Yes I’m still not over the kimono loco and I’m still infected with the kimono bug. In total, I only have 6 kimono dresses and 3 kimono tops. I can’t wait to add some more!

All Around Online Pharmacy

Posted by soreal

For all our medicine needs we always run to the nearest pharmacy to get everything we need. Well what if there is an easier and more convenient way to buy medicines without leaving the house? Let’s eliminate running or even leaving the house for that matter. Of course there is an issue about safety so imagine an online pharmacy with US-licensed pharmacists and physicians ready to assist us with our needs. A pharmacy that sells no less than authentic FDA-approved medicines and the best part is no driving required getting to it.

Now we can buy prescription drugs online for a discounted price at Edrugstore. That is not all; buying Viagra and other drug for sexual health need not be embarrassing anymore. Medicine like Viagra can be purchased from your trusted online pharmacy. Not sure yet? Take advantage of the free medical consultation and their topnotch customer service. It’s everything you need a pharmacy to be.

Happy With A Promotion

It’s not officially out yet because no email has been blasted in outlook but the word is already out that I got the In-Team Trainer position I applied for. I’m just the happiest person in the world now and I guess it shows in my face because I’m glowing and I don’t just mean glowing with love.

I’m so excited to start this other chapter of my life. My training starts next week and I will keep you guys posted!

Health Supplements

Posted by soreal

Eating healthy is very important in living healthy. Exercise alone can not help us attain holistic health and because of that we resort to vitamins. Vitamins are not only good for children; it works wonders for adults as well and comes in different packages. I especially prefer vitamin powder supplements not only because of its wonderful taste but also because I find tablets and capsules very difficult to swallow. That lump in the throat feeling is uncomfortable and of course there is that bitter taste. With powdered proteins though, I love how I can just whip up my shake during lunch at the office; it works great for my weight.

There are different health supplements that include high protein bars, shakes and calcium powder supplements available in the market today. Not only that of course; these supplements also come in different yummy flavors. What a great way to stay deliciously healthy.

Oh So Glam!

Posted by soreal

If there is anything else I love besides clothes and shoes, it would be make up and to be more specific it would be lipstick. Why if I have a fancy dresser I would line each of them like soldiers in the battlefield. So after Dada and I had dinner at KFC Ayala, I shooed him right away because he still has work and because I wanted to be alone so I could take my time choosing a lipstick without the pressure of him around glancing at his watch. Oh it’s my day off btw in case you all are wondering hihi

I was in lipstick heaven while I tried every shade. Deep down I wanted to buy all of it but I settled for a Loreal Glam Shine Lipstick in Golden Strawberry shade at Php 695, ouch! How did these tiny tubes get so expensive? Well I bought it anyway and I’m positive it is the most expensive one I have in my platoon. So I guess that makes this lipstick the general then, right?

The Magic of Blue Magic

Posted by soreal

I love this store; I love all the cute huggables they have inside their store. I feel warm and light everytime I visit their store, it’s like being in a magical place with so many cute and magical items around. I have never purchased anything for myself in their shop though. I believe that every item inside are meant to be gifts for people you love. I have gotten my share of gifts from this shop some trinkets and thinggumies from friends and of course their specialty, the stuffed toys. The first stuffed animal I got was a white bear given by an ex-boyfriend which I gladly gave out to a street child when we broke up. I sure made the kid happy! The 2nd one is a brown bear that we named “Mumble” after the penguin character in the Happy Feet movie. The 3rd one and I must say my favorite is a pink pig that I named “Gloria” after Mumble’s love interest in the movie. A pig named Gloria and a bear named Mumble, what a very odd couple!

There is just one thing that doesn’t seem to fit in Blue magic and I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks this or not. Have you seen their staff’s outfit? The girls wear skimpy black suits and skimpy mini skirts matched with black stockings and black shoes. I’m not saying they don’t look good though, I mean it must be a requirement for them to have long legs and all but come on, it’s a store that sells cute stuffed animals not a lingerie shop. Even their guys look like they’re selling insurance policy or something. What I would love to see, so as to make the place even more magical are sales people wearing cute and silly animal outfits and big happy smiles.

Inflatable For Rent

Posted by soreal

My friends and I were at the mall the other day and saw some huge Inflatable Party Rentals. My favorite is the Tunnel Combo. The ways these creations inflate make it really desirable for party rentals. It can be taken anywhere so long as there is a space to set it up. Water Slide Party Rentals are best for pool and beach parties.

Goodbye Dry Cough

After what seemed like a week of incessant coughing due to the dry cough caused by the bad weather, Bagyong Frank to be more specific; I finally got rid of it. Solmux didn’t really work for me but Robittusin did. Plus of course the power of prayer!

Steel and Concrete Needs

Concrete and steel are very valuable in our industry today. These two elements literally bind our infrastructure together; making sure it withstands the test of time and weather in offering safety. With too much at stake, it is therefore very important to trust the leading name in the concrete industry. A company that means business and whose top priority is safety.

It is difficult to top their 40 years experience in perfecting concrete and steel products which include but not limited Precast Concrete Septic Tanks, Feed Bunkers, Box Culverts and several others.

So are you getting ready for that next big project? Feel free to consult with Jensen’s engineering team to get you started. Whatever the demand is and no matter how big the pressure, trust in Jensen to as your partner in meeting you goals.

Happy 4th of July!

Today is a U.S holiday and people are celebrating Independence on July 4 17176. Well base on experience holidays mean no work! (yippie) Companies were on a rush yesterday to make sure that they get to finish up everything before the sun sets because it's all fun and firworks today.
It's a bummer how I have to work later though when Dada is off today. AGents for his account also get they day off whenever there is a U.s Holiday while my account doesn't give me the same kluxury. Well at least I can just slepp in my station later hihihi wicked!

Guiltless Getaway

Posted by soreal

Is work stressing you out and you just want to spend a nice, lovely vacation somewhere private where you can say hello to serenity or maybe just go out and do something crazy? I feel this way sometimes, well I suppose everyone does. To relax, unwind and not feel restricted have become part of people’s needs; I know its part of mine. To be able to get out and do whatever we want is so liberating. It makes us feel free and empowered.

Armed with the desire to visit places that I’ve never been to like Negril Jamaica, I tried searching online for travel packages with all inclusive resorts. I saw places that I have only seen in movies and photo shoots so far. I also came across adult vacations; now that sounds interestingly hot! All these are happening at world famous Hedonism resorts. I love the idea of a wild, guilt-fee vacation, don’t you?

The Best Gift Ever

Got this wonderful tag from Purpled Sky and I must say this tory made me cry when I first read it.

Friendly Rules:

2. Put your own blog name and link. Pass or tag this to your friends to inspire them.
3. Start copy from "Begin Copy" until "End Copy" to your blog.
A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom. And knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him.He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.Curious, but somehow disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold.Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?"And stormed out of the house, living the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possesions to his son.He needed to come home immediately and take care of his things. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He begun to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and begun to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt. 7:11, "And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?"

As he reads those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...PAID IN FULL. How many times do we miss God's blessing because they are not packaged as we expected?

I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for... PLS. SEND THIS TO ATLEAST FIVE PEOPLE SO AS TO LET THIS GREAT LESSON FLOW AROUND.

This story warms my heart everytime and I hope it will touch all yours too.

Fashionable Scrub Suits

Posted by soreal

So much of what’s going on in television inspires our everyday life in more ways than we know it. Take the scrub suit for instance. There was a time when it was just a two piece garment made of lightweight cotton that hospital staff wear. But today it evolved into something far more than that; a fashion statement that exudes life, hope and happiness. It now comes in vibrant colors and exuberant designs. Somehow these fun designs make the hospitals less boring and more interactive. I always keep an eye for the Katherine Heigl Scrubs in Grey’s Anatomy because she just has the cutest collection if you ask me.

Scrubs and Beyond showcases a wide array scrub suits from known brands such as Landau Medical Scrubs, Barco Metro Scrubs, Urbane Scrubs and several others that students and medical professionals will find very helpful. The best part of it all is that they are throwing discounts on most of their items. How wonderful is that?

201 Post!

Posted by soreal

While looking at my dashboard and thinking, me eyes swept over the number of posts I've written in my blog. I didn't realize that I was at 200 and this is the 201 post. I don't know if that is something amazing or what not but for me it is. It means that someone as restless and fickle minded as me who can't do anything long enough for it to root into something valuable, have survived blogging for 5 months now. I really showed myself diligence that I didn’t think existed at all. My conviction (sniff) to blog or should I say rant because that's all I do really surprises me. Looking forward to many more days of blogging!
